Care & Maintenance of Fine Jewelry

You jewelry is made of precious metal which is flexible and malleable. Try to bring awareness to wearing your jewelry so it is not subjected to great force. For instance, be aware of lifting heavy objects, turning doorknobs, doing handstands, boxing, etc.

If your jewelry has stones in it, the best practice is for your stones to be checked and/or tightened by a professional jeweler (it can be Jennifer Dawes Design) at least once a year, preferably twice a year. If you ever hear your stone clicking, or when you tap your stone it moves, it is loose in its setting and should be taken to a jeweler immediately.

To clean your fine jewelry hot water is best. You can also use alcohol or ammonia mixed with water.

Fine jewelry is durable, yet also delicate, and should be treated with care and respect.
